Where it comes from
Made by hand, from one stone.
Every SHAN starts as a single block of marble. It's cut, turned on a lathe and polished by hand until it's smooth enough to carry by the waist. Then the glass goes on and a number goes underneath.

The price question
Good taste, minus the price tag.
Solid marble, real glass and brass you can actually turn. It looks like it came from a gallery shop and costs £149. Spend the difference on the dinner it's lighting.
- A solid marble body, turned from one piece. No resin, no veneer.
- A pleated opal glass shade, pressed in a mould and fire-polished.
- A brass collar and a brass dial.
- A number engraved underneath.
How it works
Looks the part. Works hard at home.

- 1
10+ hours a charge. Enough for a week of dinners.
- 2
A real dial. Turn it. No tapping a lamp three times to find the setting you wanted.
- 3
250 lumens. Bright enough to read by, low enough for supper.
- 4
Real weight. 1.9 kg of stone. Cats have tried.
- 5
USB-C. Cable in the box.
No cord, so anywhere
Where it lives.

- Bedside
- Dining table
- Desk
- Bookshelf
- Bathroom shelf
- Balcony table
Carry it by the waist. That's what it's for.

The collector bit
Numbered, not mass-made.
No two blocks of marble are alike. Yours has a number to prove it.
- Engraved. Stone and number cut into the base. EMBER 0042, for example.
- Carded. A card in the box with your stone's story.
- Registered. Enter your number in the registry and your lamp has a page.

How long does the battery last?
10 hours or more at full brightness, longer dimmed.
How do I charge it?
USB-C, at the back of the base. The cable is in the box; the plug isn't. You can use it while it charges.
How bright is it?
250 lumens at the top of the dial. Bright enough to read by. Turn it down for dinner.
How do I look after the marble?
Wipe with a soft, dry cloth. Keep wine, lemon and vinegar off it, because marble is stone and acid etches stone. Use a coaster if it lives on a damp shelf.
Will mine have chips or odd veining?
Veining, yes. Every block is different, so yours won't match the photos exactly, and that's why each lamp has a number. Chips, no. Each lamp is checked before it's boxed. If one arrives damaged, tell us within 7 days and we'll replace it.
How long is delivery?
Free anywhere in the UK, usually 1 to 2 working days after dispatch, and we dispatch within 2 to 3 working days. Europe is £13 and takes 3 to 6 working days.
Can I return it?
Yes. You have 30 days to send it back unused for a full refund, on top of your legal 14 days to cancel. Return postage is yours, unless it arrived damaged or faulty, in which case it's ours.
Where is it made?
In China, on purpose. The stone is quarried there and every body is turned and polished there too.
